Following the concert, Riley received medical attention. He later informed fans that he had to receive five stitches.

"5 stitches later... sewed up," he wrote on his Instagram story.

Riley is out in Australia as part of his "Cowboy As It Gets" tour. He was performing his hit song, I Wish Grandpas Never Died," when the fan decided that throwing his phone was a smart idea. Credit to Riley, though, as he remained calm and poised throughout the incident.

Rather than losing his cool, he instructed security to remove the fan from the crowd.

"This one right here? Get his fat a** out of here," Riley said. "Go on."

After the fan had been escorted out of the crowd, a member of the backstage team came out with a cloth to help Riley wipe away some of the blood.

"I'd like to take a moment while I've got everybody's attention to thank each and every one of you for coming out tonight," he said. "Hang on, am I bleeding? Y'all see how tough I am? Thank god he didn't have an iPhone 12, that would have really hurt."

Riley Green Has Been Donating Items That Are Thrown on Stage

While a phone is certainly new to Riley, having things tossed up on stage isn't. The country music star has an army of fans, and sometimes, they get a little excited to see him doing his thing on stage. As such, all manner of items have found their way onto his sets.

"We were putting them in a big bin, and we were gonna donate them to wherever you donate bras to, I guess," Green has previously said. "Because what I learned, there was there was like people commenting saying that they were really expensive. I didn't know that."

Riley still has multiple tour dates left in Australia. It's highly likely that more items will be thrown on stage during that time. As long as it's not another phone, it's hard to see him having much of a problem with it.
