You can't keep Cody Johnson down for long. In a recent interview, CoJo discussed being back performing and his plans ahead for the year. He's ready to take the year by storm and seize the day.

This comes after the music icon needed surgery.

"I was out for three months after the surgery, and I had this mentality of when I come back, I'm taking no prisoners," Johnson said during an appearance on 'Dale Brisby's Rodeo Time' podcast.

If you're a fan of the music icon, then you're in for a good year. Johnson teased that he has plenty of music coming your way this year.

"I've already got the whole gun is loaded," he said. "The ammunition's there. We're just fixing to start sending it."

Music Icon Is Back

Despite his injury and being forced to cancel his tour, the music icon still won the CMA Male Vocalist of the Year award for 2025. Johnson says he's not resting on his laurels though.

"I just feel like now is the time in my career to make the push to set the bar higher and to say, I'm not going away," he said. "I'm here to stay."

This comes after Johnson shared sad news last year. The singer ruptured his ear drum and needed immediate surgery to avoid hearing loss.

At the time, he epxlained the situation to fans.

"It is with a heavy heart I have to share the remainder of this year's concert performances will not be able to happen," Johnson shared. "While battling a severe upper respiratory and sinus infection, I burst my ear drum. The severity of the rupture means I must undergo immediate surgery.

"The healing process will take many weeks, and it is not possible for me to sing during this time," he continued. "Without the surgery my downtime could be months. I pray for full healing so I can get well and return to doing what I love. Thank you COJO Nation for the love and support now, and always."
