Country icon Alison Krauss has been forced to cancel scores of concerts alongside her band, Alison Krauss & Union Station. As reported by People, seventeen shows across the country have been cancelled.
She announced the news in a post on social media on Thursday, September 10. "It is with great regret that Alison Krauss & Union Station have announced the cancellation of our upcoming tour dates," she wrote.
"After consulting with medical professionals, Alison has been advised to take a period of vocal rest to ensure a full and healthy recovery."
"This decision was not made lightly as we are deeply committed to our fans. However, prioritizing health and vocal integrity is imperative at this time."
Krauss concluded her statement by explaining that fans' places of purchase will issue refunds for all tickets. "We hope to make it back to these cities in the near future," she added.

The Country Icon Reunited With Her Band Just Last Year
This comes just one year after Krauss reunited with Union Station for the first time in 14 years to collab on their newest album, Arcadia. Per WILQ, "We didn't mean for it to take so long, but it did." During her hiatus, a member of the band, Dan Tyminiski, had left. Russell Moore, a talented vocalist, ended up replacing him.
"I can't even believe we got to play with Dan for 30 years and now we get to play with Russell, too," she said of the exit. "It's just amazing, the fortune of this band," she added. Following their reunion, they toured a "sprawling" 75 locations across North America.
