4 Country Duos From The 1990s That Still Have My Heart

There is no duo like a country music duo. Many musical twosomes have produced great tunes over the years. Although some of the reams that flourished in the 1990s are no longer together, others are going strong and doing wonderfully. So without further ado, let's take a closer look at Tim McGraw and Faith Hill, Garth Brooks and Trisha Yearwood, Dolly Parton and Vince Gill, and Toby Keith and Sting (yes, you read that correctly!). They each occupy a unique and lofty place in the country music pantheon.

Tim McGraw and Faith Hill

These two are a sizzling pair when they are making music and even when they are not. Their voices blend perfectly, and the professional timing they have mastered is ideal. I always get the feeling that they have such amazing chemistry, on and off the stage. It mesmerizes audiences, no matter what they sing. Per theboot.com, McGraw and Hill released a song called "It's Your Love" in 1997, followed by "Just To Hear You Say That You Love Me" in 1998. Those enchanting duets seemed to ignite their passion for performing together - and ours for hearing them!. Much later, in 2005, they recorded "Like We Never Loved At All." I defy anyone to resist its fiercely sensuous emotional pull.

Garth Brooks and Trisha Yearwood

I hope that you saw Brooks and Yearwood perform John Lennon's "Imagine" at the funeral of former President Jimmy Carter. It was a beautiful tribute to a fallen leader. They bring the mutual warmth and love they share to everything they sing. The twosome recorded "In Another's Eyes" in 1997. Although it would be years before they got married in 2005, you can kind of guess that they had a certain magical attraction to each other. Per theboot.com, this song landed a well-deserved Grammy for Best Country Collaboration with Vocals.

Dolly Parton and Vince Gill

Parton and Gill are dynamite separately, as we all know. Together, they are explosive. Interestingly, in 1995, they recorded her blockbuster hit, "I Will Always Love You." It became a huge smash for Whitney Houston years later when she sang it for the soundtrack of her film, The Bodyguard. According to the outlet, when Gill and Parton did the song at the Grand Ole Opry, so many DJs played it on the air that the pair decided to record it. I am glad they did! It won a CMA Award for Vocal Event of the Year.

Toby Keith and Sting

If ever there was an unlikely duo, this was it. No one would ever have paired these two. Sting actually recorded "I'm So Happy I Can't Stop Crying" on his own. Maybe its eyebrow-raising existence when he did it with Keith helped to make it a hit. Per the outlet, "The song made it to No. 2 and gave Sting his first and only hit (so far) on the Billboard Hot Country charts."
