The "Head Over Boots" singer has been battling sepsis for several days. According to the Mayo Clinic, this occurs when the body's immune system has an improper response to an infection and begins to damage its own tissues and organs.
As we previously reported, the illness led McHugh to cancel a show. Now it appears she will could be back on stage soon.
Lisa McHugh Says She Is "Happy To Be Finally Home"
McHugh posted a picture of herself with her two children on social media yesterday. Everyone was all smiles.
"So happy to be finally home with my babies & feeling a lot better," she wrote in the caption. "Thank you for all the love & prayers."
For fans, this update is about as good as one could ask for after a tough week for the singer.
"Aww it's great to see," one user wrote. "Take you time Liza getting back out there. Your health is more important for you and your family at the minute."
Another added, "Sending get well wishes and lots of love to you & ur babies. You've had such a hard time lately. Here's to much better health in the weeks ahead/ months to come Lisa."
McHugh Didn't Like Being Away From Her Kids
In an update she shared earlier this week, McHugh said she was "finally responding well to the treatment," but she felt guilty being away from her children.
"This is at least the 6th time in the last 18 months I've had to suddenly disappear for days, sometimes weeks, without being able to explain anything to Milo," she wrote. "That part breaks my heart more than anything."
Hopefully, McHugh will be able to spend more time with her family. Last July, the Grand Ole Opry veteran was diagnosed with Functional Neurological Disorder (FND), which can cause symptoms of paralysis or weakness in the limbs, sustained muscle contractions, and mobility issues.
McHugh was also diagnosed with Trigeminal Neuralgia, a chronic condition that causes severe facial pain. The symptoms include excruciating attacks that can repeat throughout the day and intensify over time. The singer said a buildup of stress may be the reason for that diagnosis.
She explained, "My body has now decided to make me physically stop, process and heal from everything properly."
