What Is Bailey Zimmerman Being Charged With?
As reported by Page Six, Zimmerman is being charged with criminal damage to property (over $1,000). He was also issued a misdemeanor for falsely obtaining services in New Mexico on May 27.
The alleged incident occurred the same night Zimmerman, who is currently on tour, canceled his Albuquerque show an hour before it was set to begin. On social media, he said he had "not been feeling well."
"Y'all know there's nothing I love more than getting out on the road and playing these shows for you," he wrote at the time. "So it's so hard for me to have to say this, but I have to reschedule tonight's (5/27) and Saturday's (5/30) shows."
He added, "I have not been feeling well and have tried to power through, but I'm not able to give you all the show you deserve. I hate letting y'all down and was really looking forward to these shows, but I gotta take care of myself so I can get back out there stronger."
Security Has a Different Story
An affidavit states that the 26-year-old Zimmerman appeared drunk throughout the night. Security at the Sandia Resort and Casino said he was stumbling and acting hostile during sound check. They added that he was throwing equipment around on stage.
Zimmerman then returned to the resort and canceled the show at the amphitheater located there. He was asked to leave on a bus provided by the resort. He refused, and the police were called.
After Zimmerman was escorted off the property, housekeeping entered his room and found it ruined.
Last August, Zimmerman apologized for his behavior at Luke Bryan's Crash My Playa.
"I had been drinking too much that day," the singer said. "I thought Luke was mad at me. But he called me to the main stage, and he told me, 'Drink after the show. You're young. You'll learn.'"
Zimmerman said at the time that he took Bryan's advice to heart, but the allegations against him tell a different story.
