Copycat Chick-fil-A Nuggets

There's nothing like a Chick-fil-A chicken nugget. Crispy and poppable, I prefer Chick-fil-a nuggets to Chick-fil-A sandwiches a million to one. And you know the one day I always crave them? Sunday. It's like clockwork, throughout the week I plan my meals but on Sundays, we are usually hiking or going to the park, with no food plans. My boyfriend and I always look at each other and say the same thing, "Why do we crave Chick-fil-A on Sundays?" Thankfully, the one day they are closed we can make copycat Chick-fil-A nuggets at home, Chick-fil-A sauce and all.

How to Make Copycat Chick-fil-A Nuggets

Wanna know the secret to these delicious golden brown chicken pieces? Dill pickle juice and powdered sugar. I never said these fried chicken nuggets were healthy.

To begin, cut boneless skinless chicken breasts into bite-size pieces. Add the chicken to a large bowl and add in the dill pickle juice and milk. Let the mix mixture sit for 30 minutes and marinate the chicken. Drain chicken.

Meanwhile, prepare the copycat Chick-fil-A dipping sauce by mixing together mayonnaise, honey, mustard, BBQ sauce, Dijon mustard, and lemon juice.

Heat a fryer or dutch oven over medium heat and fill with peanut oil or vegetable oil.

In a large bowl combine milk and a large egg. Add the marinated chicken and toss gently to coat, draining off the excess egg mixture if needed.

In a gallon-size bag or a large bowl, whisk together the breading, which consists of all-purpose flour, garlic powder, kosher salt, black pepper, and powdered sugar. Add in the chicken and mix, tossing the flour mixture to coat.

Working in batches to prevent the chicken from crowding, add chicken to the hot oil and cook until brown and crispy, about 3-4 minutes. Remove from the oil using a slotted spoon and drain on paper towels. Repeat with the remaining chicken.

Serve with the copycat honey mustard sauce. Actually serve all your fried foods with this sauce. There you go! You can eat food from Chick-fil-A even on Sundays.
