Billhimer reported that the off-duty cop broke into a residence on Evernhan Avenue in Berkeley's Bayville section around 11:20 p.m. She allegedly shattered the front glass door, entered the home, and assaulted two occupants while making terroristic threats. Before entering, Sayegh reportedly vandalized the hood of a vehicle parked in the driveway, owned by one of the victims.
Berkeley Township police responded to a reported domestic disturbance. Officers encountered Sayegh, who resisted arrest before being taken into custody. The prosecutor's office initially issued a summons but later filed a warrant on Monday due to the severity of the charges.
Sayegh now faces accusations of home invasion burglary, two counts of assault, two counts of criminal mischief, terroristic threats, and resisting arrest. She remains in Ocean County Jail awaiting a detention hearing.
