As PEOPLE reported, jail records show the 22-year-old influencer was arrested on Sep. 4 by the Fort Lauderdale Police Department. He was allegedly involved in a violent altercation with his girlfriend.
Who Is Jack Doherty?
Doherty became popular on YouTube around 2016 when he was just 13 years old. His viral videos featured trampoline stunts, trick shots, bottle flips, and pranks inside retail stores.
He reached 1 million subscribers before he turned 15, but his content often drew controversy for his rude and disruptive behavior.
In 2024, Doherty livestreamed an incident involving his McLaren 570S, worth around $200,000. While texting and driving down a Miami freeway in the rain, the sports car hydroplaned across multiple lanes and collided with a metal guardrail. His cameraman was injured. He then begged fans for donations.
Then, last year, Doherty and his entourage got into a fight with former UFC Heavyweight champion Andrei Arlovski. No one was hurt.
What Happened With Doherty and His Girlfriend?
According to the police report, Doherty allegedly got into an argument with his girlfriend in a home in the Riverside Park neighborhood of Fort Lauderdale.
Police claim Doherty moved quickly toward his girlfriend and "got in her face." She told officers that he allegedly "pushed her to the ground and used his hands around her neck to briefly pin her to the ground."
Doherty's girlfriend then grabbed a gun from the bedside table. She threatened to shoot Doherty if he came near her. Reports state that Doherty did not speak with police before his arrest.
This incident comes after another run-in Doherty had with the law less than a year ago. On Nov. 15, he was arrested and booked on two drug-related charges: possession of a controlled substance (amphetamine) and possession of 20 grams or less of cannabis. He was also charged with resisting arrest.
Doherty then entered a felony drug pre-trial diversion program in January.
