Construction Worker Dies While Building New NFL Training Facility

A construction worker was found dead at the site of the Denver Broncos' new $175 million training facility, prompting an investigation.

A construction worker has tragically died while working at the site of the Denver Broncos' new training facility.

The subcontractor was found dead on June 15 at the under-construction complex, known as Broncos Park.

The worker's identity has not been publicly released.

Construction Worker Dies at Broncos Training Facility Site

According to reports, the worker was discovered unresponsive by coworkers in a confined ceiling space within the facility.

Arapahoe County Sheriff's Office deputies responded to reports of a medical emergency at approximately 8:20 p.m.

The training center is located at 13409 E. Broncos Parkway, southeast of downtown Denver.

South Metro Fire Rescue crews also responded to the scene and used specialized equipment to reach the worker. Despite their efforts, he was pronounced dead at the site.

The Arapahoe County Coroner's Office is investigating the cause and manner of death.

The $175 million facility, known as Broncos Park, has been under construction since 2024 and is expected to open later this summer.

The Broncos were just days away from beginning the transition into the new facility, with offices and football operations scheduled to relocate in phases over the coming weeks ahead of training camp in late July.

Authorities have not yet released any additional details regarding the circumstances surrounding the incident.

Broncos and Construction Company Respond

The Denver Broncos acknowledged the tragedy in a statement obtained by NBC Sports.

"The Denver Broncos are heartbroken to learn a subcontractor working on our new training center passed away Monday while on-site," the statement reads. "We extend our deepest sympathies and condolences to the individual's family, coworkers and friends during this difficult time."

Turner Construction Company, which is overseeing the project, also released a statement through the Broncos organization.

"We extend our heartfelt condolences to the worker's family, loved ones, friends, and colleagues during this very difficult time," the company said. "Work at the site has been suspended as we support the investigation into the circumstances surrounding this tragic incident."

"This is a heartbreaking loss for the worker's family, loved ones, friends, colleagues, and all those impacted by this tragedy."

Further details, including the worker's identity and the official cause of death, are expected to be released once the investigation is complete.
