Connie Britton May Be Planning to Leave 'Nashville'

It's been a stressful few months for Nashville fans. After it was announced that she show had been cancelled by ABC and then picked up by Hulu, many were left wondering what would happen to their favorite characters.

Well, not everyone came out unscathed. It has already been confirmed that Will Chase (Luke Wheeler) and Aubrey Peeples (Layla Grant) are not returning for season five. Now, The Hollywood Reporter has confirmed that lead actress Connie Britton has only signed on for 10 out of 22 episodes next season.

Before all you Rayna fans start panicking, there could be many reasons for this change. They may still be in negotiations, or Britton may be planning on filming another project alongside Nashville. However, there are still plenty of other characters and plot line to keep all the dedicated "Nashies" entertained.

Hulu has also confirmed an official premiere date for season five, which is one month later than expected. Although Nashville cast member Charles Esten told the Grand Ole Opry crowd last month that they'd be back in December, the special two-hour premiere will officially air Thursday, Jan. 5 at 9 p.m. on CMT. The episode will also be available to stream online through Hulu the following day.
