A former cheerleader has sure had a rocky start to her college career. And it's not because of academics or difficulty navigating the social scene, either. She was recently arrested not once but twice within days for alleged domestic abuse. Kailyn Hasty is a freshman at Middle Tennessee State University. Per the New York Post, she was arrested on Friday, August 28, for committing an alleged assault in Murfreesboro at an apartment. Hasty was reportedly booked "as the primary aggressor," per the outlet. Other information about the alleged incident and the victim was not made available.

However, that was apparently not the end of the legal entanglements for Hasty. She was released, and then, three days later, she was reportedly nabbed by law enforcement yet again.
Hasty Was Caught the Second Time During a Traffic Stop
On Monday, August 31, Kailyn Hasty was riding in a car that was pulled over in Murfreesboro. The police officer realized that "the driver had a protective order against her," according to the Post. Hasty was arrested again because she allegedly was in violation of that order.
Hasty was booked on the charge and then released. Nevertheless, there have been other consequences for her already. Per the outlet, Hasty has been booted from the cheerleading squad. She is still enrolled at MTSU, though.
The University's Spirit Program Coordinator Made a Statement
Per MTSU Sidelines, a university publication, Brooke Legens, the MTSU spirit program coordinator, made this statement about Kailyn Hasty. She was shown to the door by the cheerleading team on Saturday, August 29, following the first alleged incident.
Legens said, "Her actions are not a reflection of our values as a University or Spirit Program. MTSU Spirit nor I or any of our coaches condone violence in any type and it will never be tolerated. Our athletes work hard year-round to represent our University at the highest level, and we will continue to do so."
Domestic Abuse Can Take Many Forms
According to the United Nations, domestic abuse can consist of various kinds of behavior. It includes "physical, sexual, emotional, economic or psychological actions or threats of actions that influence another person."
