Cody Alan, host of Hot 20 Countdown and CMT Radio Live, came out as gay in a heartfelt Instagram post.

Within the post, Alan took time to explain the depth of his announcement with relation to his life. "As we start a new year, there is something I want to share with you. You see, I'm gay," he writes. "This is not a choice I made, but something I've known about myself my whole life."
Alan went on to thank his fans and followers, and promised to "live the most honest, authentic, loving, and open life possible."

Although Alan's revelation is a big one, don't expect him to act any differently. He'll no doubt continue to beam positivity, a trait that's made him one of the most beloved public figures in the industry.
In his quest to remain authentic, Alan maintains he's "still the same Cody I always was. You just know a little more about me now."
