CM Punk isn't someone to mess with. The veteran WWE superstar is a former UFC fighter, and one of the greatest wrestlers of his generation. Unfortunately, that doesn't stop overzealous fans from stepping on, or sometimes over, the line with him.

In a recent TMZ video, Punk, real name Phil Brooks, confronts a fan outside a hotel. The incident appears to be taking place shortly after the second night of WWE's WrestleMania. A fan appears to be standing to the side, filming Punk's wife, AJ Lee and fellow WWE superstar Baylee.
Online reports suggest that AJ Lee, real name April Mendez, was dealing with real-world issues that left her visibly upset. Baylee is reportedly one of April's closest friends, which would explain their friendly embrace.
Punk, visibly frustrated with the fan, slaps the phone out of his hand. Security quickly rushes in to help calm the situation. However, that doesn't stop Punk from shooting a deathly stare and sharing some choice words with the fan.
The fan appears to apologize in the video. Nevertheless, the situation had already reached an uncomfortable level at that point.
CM Punk Has Reminded Fans To Respect Boundaries Before
In October of 2025, CM Punk shared a post to his Instagram story. In that post, he reminded fans that wrestlers are humans too and urged them to respect their boundaries.
"We unfortunately have to have this conversation again," Punk wrote. "Do not turn up at airports. Do not show up at hotels. I cannot believe I have to say this. DO NOT FOLLOW PEOPLE. You've repeatedly been politely told no, respect it. You are not a fan, you are a stalker and will be treated as such. Respect the boundaries. Stop harassing people."
Judging by how Punk treated the fan in the video, he viewed the interaction as one with a stalker. Hopefully, the new footage will serve as a reminder for fans to respect WWE talent's boundaries, especially late at night when they're about to travel or blow off some steam.
Otherwise, situations such as the oe in the video are likely to become somewhat of a common occurance, and that doesn't help anybody.
