Clem Burke, drummer for iconic 70s rock band Blondie, passed away on April 7 from cancer at age 70, according to American Songwriter. He had an absolutely stellar career drumming for stars like Joan Jett, Bon Dylan, and Iggy Pop as well. Per the outlet, "From the early 1970s, Burke found himself on stage with the band and stayed with them for the group's entire career in the spotlight. He also appeared on every album alongside Chris Stein and Debbie Harry." Clearly, Burke was an integral part of the classic Blondie sound.

According to the New York Post, "The rock band — known for hits like 'Call Me' and 'One Way Or Another' — initially lasted from 1974 to 1982, but they reunited in 1997. Their most recent album was 2017's Pollinator, which Burke played the drums on."

Burke remained extremely private about his health struggles, so word of his death came as a big jolt to many. According to the outlet, Blondie issued a statement on Instagram deeply mourning Burke's loss.
