Among the many classic rock voices in history, Lou Gramm is probably one of the most iconic, especially for all Foreigner fans. While it's been more than 20 years since he left the band, he has continuously collaborated with them from time to time. Now, a new song featuring him on vocals will be released in September.

During an interview with Radio Futuro, a Chilean radio station, Foreigner bassist Jeff Pilson revealed that Gramm will sing in an upcoming "old-new" song. As part of the upcoming 50th anniversary release of 4, Foreigner's 1981 album, a song named "Fool If You Love Him," which Gramm wrote back in the day, will be included.
"We found an unfinished song in all the files," Pilson said during the interview, reported by Blabbermouth. "The song had one verse in it, and Lou had sung one verse and he sang the chorus. And it was great, but it was only one verse. He was mumbling the second verse."
Immediately, Foreigner contacted Lou and asked him to finish writing and singing the song. Lou Gramm, delighted by the request, agreed, and he delivered.
"He wrote and finished two verses and sang them. He added cowbell", Pilson continued. "We have now a new, old Foreigner song that will be on the Foreigner '4? release coming out in September. The song is called 'Fool If You Love Him,' and it came out great."
Foreigner And Gramm
According to Mass Live, this is not the first collaboration between Foreigner and their former lead vocalist. Back in August 2024, as part of their greatest hits collection release amid their Rock & Roll Hall of Fame, the band released "Turning Back the Time," a track that also featured Gramm in vocals.
With their upcoming 50th anniversary release of 4, Foreigner is excited to bring forth and relive a record that is very close to their fans' hearts.
"To Foreigner fans, they kind of consider it the pinnacle," Pilson said about 4. "It was just an incredible masterpiece of a record. I mean, it's a record where every song is great and most Foreigner fans relate to everything on there. So it's a very important record for Foreigner fans. But wait till you hear this record coming out. It's pretty amazing."
Lou Gramm, who left Foreigner in 1990 and then in 2002, will join the band throughout their Latin American tour as a guest. Given unspecified issues, current Foreigner singer Kelly Hanses will not be able to perform abroad.
