Classic rock band Squeeze called off their upcoming gig at the Wolf Trap in Vienna, Virginia on Thursday, September 3. The decision was made after a member of their tour bus staff was fatally injured in an accident that occurred on the venue's property.

The band made the announcement via a press release that has since been shared online.
"Squeeze are deeply saddened and shocked by an incident that occurred at the venue earlier today, which resulted in the loss of a life," the press release said. "After discussions with the venue and the relevant authorities, the decision was made to cancel this evening's performance. We will work with the promoter and venue regarding the possibility of rescheduling the show and will communicate further information to ticket holders as soon as it is available. Our thoughts remain with everyone affected by this tragic event."
The worker was reportedly underneath the buss when a gear that was supposed to keep the vehicle supported malfunctioned. Unfortunately, that malfunction led to the bus landing on top of the worker, who has not been named publicly.
Of course, the worker was pronounced dead at the scene. The Wolf Trap has since
released a statement."There was an accident involving a member of the community at Wolf Trap National Park today. Tragically resulting in a loss of life. Out of respect, tonight's show has been canceled."
Squeeze Remains a Popular Band to This Day
Local fans will undoubtedly be disappointed at the gig having been canceled. Although it's likely they understood the reasons behind the decision. Nevertheless, the chance to see Squeeze doesn't come around very often. So those fans will likely hope a new date can be set for the show.
Squeeze, which was a popular group during the 80s and 90s, still holds a strong following to this day. The band has never stopped releasing new music and currently boasts over 1.1 million monthly listeners on Spotify alone. Of course, that number is likely much higher once factoring in other streaming platforms such as Apple and Amazon Music.
The band's most popular song on Spotify is 'Tempted' with over 79.6 million hits.
It's worth noting that no information has been revealed as to whether the group will honor their upcoming performances or take some time before getting back on the road.
