According to the BBC, Marianne Kilonz was found fatally beaten inside her flat in Woolwich, London. A welfare check had been carried out to her address after concerns were reported. That's when they found her body on January 17, around 5:25 pm, per PEOPLE.

The autopsy concluded that she had suffered head trauma and injury, leading to her death.

No arrests have been made, and it looks like the suspect fled abroad, according to authorities. Police have chosen not to release any information about the suspect.

However, they have said that they have determined Kilonz knew her attacker. "We believe the suspect was known to Marianne and there is no wider risk to the public," said Detective Chief Inspector Suzanne Soren.

Citibank Vice President Killer Is Still At Large

The police have not revealed any information on the suspect nor on the details on the nature of the incident. The investigation is ongoing, although with their fears of the suspect going international, they have their work cut out for them.

Soren continued to express her sympathies, "This is a tragic crime and our thoughts at this incredibly difficult time are with Marianne's loved ones and colleagues."

Citibank has also expressed their thoughts. A spokesperson told the BBC, "We are deeply saddened by the tragic loss of our colleague. Our thoughts are with Marianne's family and friends during this difficult time."

Due to Kilonz's position, it is possible that the murder was motivated by business reasons rather than personal. We will need to see what comes of the investigation for any conclusive motive, however.

According to her LinkedIn profile, Kilonz had started the position in June 2023.

I only hope the police catch the murderer in a timely manner. I also wish for her family and friends the strength to overcome the grief that has been thrust upon them.
