Supermodel Cindy Crawford has finally broken her silence about the tragic death of her son, Presley Gerber.

In a joint statement with husband Rande Gerber and their daughter Kaia Gerber, Crawford says that she and her family are "heartbroken" about the unspeakable loss.

"We are beyond heartbroken to lose our beloved son and brother. We feel so blessed to have had Presley in our lives for 27 years," read the statement shared on Instagram on Sunday ( October 18). "He is a sweet, beautiful soul who loved and is loved, now and forever. We are so proud of how he showed up in the world, with kindness and vulnerability."
Presley's family concluded their statement by expressing their gratitude to everyone who has supported them in the wake of his death.
"We are grateful for the outpouring of love and support from so many who know and love our family and even strangers who feel our pain. Til we meet our sweet boy again. We love you forever, Mom, Dad and Kaia," they said.
In a separate statement, Kaia remembered how much she "loved" being Presley's sister. And said that she believed that the pain of his loss is something that will eventually "swallow [her] whole."
"You know how much I loved being your sister. It has always been, and will forever be, my favorite thing about myself," she wrote on Instagram (via Deadline). "I came into this world with a white-knuckle grip around you. I had more love for you than I knew what to do with. And now that it has nowhere obvious to go, I'm certain it's going to swallow me whole."
Gerber was unresponsive on September 20 on the floor of a bedroom at Resolutions Living. A luxury rehab center in Santa Monica. He had checked himself in just hours prior to his body being discovered.
He was 27 years old at the time of his passing.
