The 54-year-old singer recently revealed that she has fully recovered from her internal injuries, although the experience has changed how she approaches her health. During an interview with Fox News Digital, Grant recalled tripping over a brick while walking to dinner with her husband and daughter.

The fall sent the Grammy-nominated performer crashing onto her stomach.

Although she initially suspected she had broken a rib or suffered a painful bruise, Grant decided to continue with the family's dinner plans. However, her symptoms became increasingly difficult to ignore. The Christian music star experienced considerable discomfort while walking and eating. She eventually realized that something more serious might be happening.

"I thought, 'Oh, maybe I broke a rib' or 'Man, that's gonna leave a bruise' or 'I kind of knocked the wind out of me,'" she said. "But then I got up and I kept walking to dinner. I'm like, I'm sore, but I'm gonna be okay. It wasn't until I realized that I was bleeding internally. And when I realized that it was an emergency, got to the emergency room. And they were like your bladder could rupture, because my kidney was bleeding, and I wasn't able to pass urine."

Her condition became more concerning after she was admitted to the intensive care unit. Medical personnel inserted a urinary catheter, allowing them to observe the ongoing bleeding.

"I had a catheter so you could see the blood kept filling. I wouldn't stop bleeding, and I think that's when they were like we've got to get you in for surgery and figure out what's going on. But they all let me know like if you wouldn't have come in, like I talked about maybe going to a bigger hospital, and they said, 'No you were really smart to come as fast as you could and get here as quickly as you can,' because if I didn't, my bladder would have actually ruptured, and I wouldn't have known it," she said.

"I wouldn't stop bleeding," Grant recalled.

The singer underwent emergency surgery. But fortunately, she's all better now.

"I just last week had my final cystoscopy which checked inside my kidney and my bladder and everything looks fantastic. It's 100 percent healed. You actually can see a scar from where it was and there's I'm like, there's a sermon in that. It's all healed, we still have the scar, but it's healed. And then I just had an ultrasound as well. So internally, everything is 100%. And I just, I thank God because that could have gone 100 different directions. But I'm very, very grateful for good medical care and for the faithfulness of God took care of me," she said.
