Almost a year and a half after its release, Chris Stapleton’s debut solo album has reclaimed the top spot on Billboard’s Country Albums chart.

Stapleton is a seemingly unstoppable force in music right now. Last year, the CMA Awards highlighted Stapleton’s talents and gave him huge mainstream exposure. During the ceremony, Stapleton gave an incredible performance of “Tennessee Whiskey,” accompanied by Justin Timberlake.

The memorable duet is partially responsible for launching Stapleton into an incredibly successful year. Following the 2015 show, his album Traveller soared to No. 1 on the Billboard County charts. Overall, the record has sold 1,626,285 copies since its release. Oddly enough, though, not a single one of his songs has ever placed above No. 10 on the Billboard country charts.

At the 50th anniversary CMA Award show on Nov. 2, Stapleton again proved he’s a force to be reckoned with. He took home the win for Male Vocalist of the Year and Music Video of the Year for “Fire Away.”

During the show, the award-winner teamed up with Dwight Yoakam to give an incredible cover of Willie Nelson’s “Seven Spanish Angels.”  The pairing of these two singers was more than just happenstance — they actually wrote a song together a few weeks ago. We’re already predicting it’ll make a splash on the Billboard charts!
