Chris Stapleton has shared another new track off his highly anticipated new record, From a Room: Volume 2.
"Scarecrow in the Garden" was co-written by Stapleton, Brice Long and Matt Fleene. The haunting track follows the story of a family who make a home out of a West Virginia farm after immigrating from Ireland. Hard times hit the farm, and lead the character down a dark path.
The eerie story-song shows off Stapleton's incredible talents as a musician, vocalist and songwriter. The track comes just a week after the release of "Millionaire," a much more high-spirited and romantic tune. So far, all of the songs from Stapleton's latest project have a more stripped down and organic sound as compared to his beloved debut LP, Traveller.
Both songs will be featured on From a Room: Volume 2, due out on Dec. 1. The record features 9 new tracks and is the companion album to From a Room: Volume 1, which dropped back in May. That release earned Stapleton nominations for Album of the Year, Male Vocalist of the Year and Entertainer of the Year at this year's CMA Awards.
