Chris Stapleton Sings Quarantine Christmas Songs on 'Kimmel'

Country music superstar Chris Stapleton appeared on Jimmy Kimmel Live on Nov. 11 in a very 2020 holiday sketch. In the clip, Stapleton, who released his new album Starting Over on Nov. 13, appeared in a Christmas sweater, face shield and gloves to perform yuletide tunes from his (fake) holiday album A Very COVID Christmas: Holiday Songs for a Pandemic.

The "Tennessee Whiskey" singer sings Christmas parodies such as, "Disinfect the Halls," "Oh, Cover Your Mouth-Hole," "Oh, Clorox Wipes" and "Grubhub Night" ("Curbside pickup of Applebee's wings/ Eating alone in my jeep," Stapleton sings), while an additional list of song titles ("Grandma Got Corona From a Reindeer" and "Fauci the Snowman," to name a few) scroll by.

The Kentucky singer-songwriter also appeared on Jimmy Kimmel Live to chat with the host about his 2015 CMA performance with Justin Timberlake, his appearance on Game of Thrones and more.

Stapleton said his duet with Timberlake changed his life in astounding ways.

"It was drastic: sold-out shows, dudes driving from North Carolina just to say 'hi' to me," Stapleton said.

The country star explained that his wife Morgane pushed him to reach out to Timberlake.

"I called Justin and asked him for a favor...we'd been kind of looking for something to do together anyway," Stapleton said. "He was gracious enough to come and do that and the rest is history I guess."

Stapleton appeared on the 2020 CMA Awards to perform "Starting Over" with his wife Morgane Stapleton.

Starting Over is the follow-up to Stapleton's 2017 albums From A Room: Vol. 1 and From A Room: Vol. 2. He released his debut studio album Traveller in 2015.
