Chris Pratt Shares How Eric Church Inspired Role in 'Jurassic World'

Actor Chris Pratt admits he was inspired by Eric Church during the filming of his latest box office hit, Jurassic World.

In an interview with GQ, Pratt shared the mantra he would repeat to himself before he would go on camera during filming: "Flow core, no TC, volume up point five, Eric Church."

He constantly repeated this short list in his head to remind him of his posture, when to project his voice, and Church's song, "Dark Side". According to the article, Pratt listened to the track "over and over" during his time on set, focusing intently on "the darkness in this character it encapsulated." He channeled that energy into the charming and heroic Owen, who has quickly become a favorite of moviegoers around the world.

Pratt, also known for his roles in Guardians of the Galaxy and the television show Parks and Recreation, has publicly admitted throughout the years he's a huge country fan. In 2014, he made a playlist for Vulture Magazine that listed songs from Church (including the aforementioned track "Dark Side"), George Strait and Garth Brooks.

Jurassic World has broken box office records, earning over one billion dollars worldwide since its release early June. You can read the full interview with Chris Pratt at GQ.
