Chris Lane Begins New Career Chapter With 'From Where I'm Sippin'' EP

The title track's a potential hit.

A decade after moving to Nashville, Tenn. and four years since "Big, Big Plans" became his third No. 1 country airplay hit, Chris Lane begins a new phase of his career with his "From Where I'm Sippin'" EP. The Oct. 20 release marks his first EP or full-length since departing Big Loud and partnering his own Voyager Records with Jay DeMarcus of Rascal Flatts' newly-formed imprint Red Street.

Though "Find Another Bar" —a heartbreak song with an anthemic chorus— made sense as Lane's first solo single since 2021's "Fill Them Boots," the positive, sunshiny and more traditionally country title track would sound even more at home on the commercial airwaves.

"I wrote 'Find Another Bar' with Josh Thompson and Justin Ebach trying to find a different way to write a breakup song and I'm proud of how it turned out! I know there will be a lot of people who can relate to it," Lane shared in a press release.

The remaining songs address matters of the heart, from falling in love at first sight ("Betcha") to fighting to keep that flame lit ("Mistake") and struggling to move past a breakup ("Way to Go Girl"). If you're craving a current take on the pop-country vibes from around the time Lane moved to Music City, give the entire EP a listen. Check it out on Spotify.

Career high points for Lane since the gold-certified success of 2018 album "Laps Around the Sun" include the Lauren Alaina duet "Dancin' in the Moonlight," Dustin Lynch team-up "Tequila on a Boat" and Scotty McCreery collaboration "Small Town On It."

Lane's album comes nearly a year after the birth of his second son with his spouse, "The Bachelor" Season 20 winner Lauren Bushnell.
