Chip Gaines, everyone's favorite carpenter from Fixer Upper, just had an extreme makeover for a good cause.
The HGTV star made headlines earlier this year for his shaggy locks, but recently decided to shave it all off. So why go bald? Gaines first teased the reasoning for his dramatic change in an Instagram post shared earlier this month.
"Let's come together to do something big to bless these kiddos," Gaines wrote on Instagram. "Donate to @StJude through the link in my profile, and the more money we raise over the next FOUR days, the shorter my hair goes. The more money we raise over the next four days, the shorter my hair goes. That's a promise. And, who knows, maybe if you really exceed my expectations...I'll buzz it all off."
Well, it looks like Fixer Upper fans answered the call. The Gaines' headed to Memphis last week to visit children at St. Jude's Research Hospital's Target House. And you can tell that the kids were pretty excited about Chip's new look.
Earlier this year, Chip and Joanna announced that Fixer Upper would end after its upcoming fifth season.
