Chip Gaines is Hiding $1,000 Checks in Some Copies of His New Book

Chip Gaines is giving some lucky fans the chance to win some big bucks. In a video posted on Monday, March 2, the  Fixer Upper star announced that he's hiding $1,000 checks in 10 copies of his forthcoming self-help memoir No Pain, No Gaines:The Good Stuff Doesn't Come Easy, which will be released on March 16.

"Today is book day," Gaines says. "If you're lucky enough to pre-order at the right exact second, you will find a $1,000 check."

Lucky winners will also get a weekend in Waco to "experience all things Magnolia." Chip and Joanna's Magnolia Market is based in Waco, Texas.

In the video, Gaines says he placed the checks near page 16 in the books, a nod to his favorite number.

According to the book's description, it's a "by-the-bootstraps manual for building a network you can count on" including everything from "hard-won lessons to personal stories from Chip."

Chip and Joanna Gaines' Magnolia Table restaurant was recently flooded after a pipe blew in the ceiling as a result of a devastating winter storm that caused water loss and electric outages across Texas.

"Whether you heard about it on the news or have been living in the middle of it, you know Texas has been hit hard by Winter Storm Uri. Families and individuals from all over are dealing with the fallout of a storm like we've never seen," Chip Gaines wrote on Instagram. "Here in Waco, we opened the doors to a busted pipe that flooded our restaurant.. but we know this same story is playing out across the state, with so many people facing far worse."

The couple recently returned to television with Fixer Upper: Welcome Home. Fixer Upper: Welcome Home joins the growing slate of programming within the Magnolia Network Preview on discovery+

Last year, the Gaines' new Magnolia Network shared a preview of the new shows heading to the channel, including Magnolia Table With Joanna Gaines, The Eduardo Garcia Project, Restoration Road with Clint Harp, The Lost Kitchen, Self Employed, Home Work, Home on the Road with Johnnyswim and Fixer Upper: Welcome Home.

Gaines previously published Capital Gaines: Smart Things I Learned Doing Stupid Stuff. Chip and Joanna Gaines also wrote The Magnolia Story in 2016.
