Panettiere's Father Speaks Out After Passing

Panettiere was unresponsive in her South Carolina home on Sunday afternoon (August 16). She was 36 years old.

Her father, Skip, confirmed her passing in a statement to ABC News on Sunday.

"It is with profound sadness that we share the tragic passing of our beloved Hayden," he said to the outlet. "She was an incredible light and a force of nature who brought immeasurable love and joy to all who knew her -- and to the millions who watched her onscreen."

After her passing was confirmed, tributes from fans of the Remember the Titans star poured in on social media.

"I hope she can rest after years of dealing with the effects of abuse within the industry," one user wrote on X, formerly known as Twitter.

"Damn, that's rough as hell. Hayden was only 36... Claire Bennet, Juliette, Kirby she was everywhere growing up. Way too young. Rest easy," a second user added.

"Thirty-six is far too young for a life to be reduced to a headline," a third user chimed in.

Hayden's father also asked for privacy for him and his family as they navigate through their "unimaginable loss."

The Heroes star was only 36 years old. The investigation into her death is still ongoing.
