A Utah children's author murdered her husband in an attempt to steal his 4 million dollar estate.

Kouri Richins was found guilty of the murder of her husband, Eric Richins. This came after three hours of deliberations on Monday, March 16, as reported by the New York Post.

And in a shocking turn of events, she wrote a book to help her kids grieve. The book was called Are You With Me?, and was written a year after she murdered her husband to "help their sons process the loss". Horrendous, right? Richins was handed guilty verdicts on aggravated murder, attempted aggravated murder, insurance fraud, and forgery charges. B

According to prosecutors, the children's author had hatched a plot to murder her husband, take his estate, and start a new life with her lover. But Robert Josh Grossman wasn't aware of what she'd done.

The way she killed Eric was especially sickening. She reportedly slipped fentanyl into his Moscow Mule. She also reportedly even tried giving him a fentanyl sandwich on Valentine's Day beforehand, but that plot didn't work. Prosecutors said, "she wanted to leave Eric Richins but did not want to leave his money".

While we don't know how long she's going to spend behind bars, things are looking bleak for her. She's looking at around 25 years.

People are understandably upset by the crime. They shared their thoughts on the verdict.

One commentator wrote, "I've watched 10 hours of testimony in this case... There was NO way this jury was returning a guilty verdict in THREE hours without his testimony... Evil was held accountable today."

In a reply, another commentator wrote, "Yes, finally a feel-good story. I hope she rots... and I also hope her children can one day get through the trauma that she has caused them."

Another commentator wrote, "Karma wins every time." Ain't that the truth!
