Per the Daily Mail, first responders raced to a "home in Southern California at around 7:30 p.m. on Friday, June 12, following reports of an unresponsive child." Emergency measures were quickly taken to try to revive the youngster. He was then transported to Harbor-UCLA Medical Center. There, he was pronounced deceased.

The Boy Allegedly Accidentally Drowned

The little boy who succumbed was third-grader Taylor Thach. He was reportedly enjoying watching the soccer match from that home. At this time, the autopsy on Taylor is reportedly still not finished. However, his cause of death appears to be "a heartbreaking and sudden pool accident" that took his life, per the outlet. According to People, "[E]very sign points to accidental drowning," said El Segundo Police Department Investigations Lieutenant Eric Atkinson.

A GoFundMe Has Been Established in Taylor Thach's Memory

Taylor Thach's family and friends are grieving and trying to grasp this terrible, shocking loss. A GoFundMe has been set up "to help ease immediate expenses...." As of Thursday, June 18, $83.887 has been raised.

The tribute essay is captioned, "In Loving Memory of Taylor Thach." It reads in part, "It is with unimaginable sadness and heartbreak that we share the loss of Taylor Thach, a beloved Center Street School student, who tragically passed away following an accidental drowning. Taylor had been a Cougar since kindergarten and was a beloved member of the school community. He was known for his kind heart and friendly spirit. Affectionate and polite, he often went out of his way to ask others how they were doing or to wish them a good day. He brought joy to those around him."

Furthermore, it says, "As a community, we are struggling to make sense of such a devastating loss. The El Segundo Families have always shown up for one another in times of need, and we know so many people are asking how they can help. This GoFundMe is one small way we can come together to support the Thach family during the most difficult time of their lives."
