Rashee Rice will have to serve a short jail sentence due to violating his probation. The Kansas City Chiefs' wide receiver has been given 30 days behind bars. He tested positive for THC and violated the terms of his probation. He had previously been involved in a high-speed multi-vehicle accident in Dallas.

Rice will be released from his sentence on June 16.
"That time frame conflicts with the dates the Chiefs have released for OTA offseason workouts (May 26-28 and June 1-3) and mandatory minicamp (June 9-11)," KSHB 41, a local news station, reports.
A spokesperson for the NFL has since released a short statement regarding the ruling against Rice.
"We are aware of the report and will decline further comment at this time," the spokesperson told KSHB 41.
According to the Dallas County DA, Rice was taken into custody on Tuesday, May 19. It was there that he failed his drug test and was told to serve 30 days.
"Mr. Rice was taken into custody today in the 194th Judicial District Court for testing positive for THC and ordered to serve the 30 days that he had previously been ordered to serve at a later time -- starting today," the Dallas County DA's office said, via ESPN.
Rashee Rice Has Been in the NFL for Three Years
Rashee Rice is supposed to be preparing for his fourth season in the NFL. He joined the Chiefs in 2023 as the 55th overall pick, going in the second round. He won a Super Bowl ring in his rookie year, even starting four playoff games for the franchise.
As a rookie, Rice suited up for 16 regular-season games, making 79 receptions for a total of 938 yards, recording 7 touchdowns and triggering a first down on 50 occasions. Solid work for his first season in the pro leagues.
Rice hasn't seen the gridiron anywhere near as much in his following two seasons. He suited up just four times as a sophomore and just eight times last season. His legal issues could dreail the 2026 season for him too, but we will have to wait and see how that plays out.
