New details have been released about the recent arrest of Elijah Zion Bienemy. He is the son of Kansas City Chiefs assistant coach Eric Bienemy.

Disturbing Phone Call Shows Writing on Wall In Bienemy Shooting
In case you're tardy to the party, Elijah was recently arrested. He was arrested after he allegedly shot his mother, Mia Bienemy. However, according to a recent report from The Athletic, the writing was on the wall before the eventual shooting. It was apparent things were volatile between Elijah and his parents. When 911 received a disturbing phone call from a 27-year-old man at the Bienemy residence.
In a transcript obtained by the outlet, the man was apparently very upset that his parents would not allow him to keep his firearms in their Virginia residence.
"[He said that] his parents are withholding his weapons, and that he's a certified UFC fighter so now he feels like he cannot defend himself," a police report obtained by the outlet read.
The report adds that the person on the phone said that the parents demanded that he hand the firearms over. If he wanted to keep living in the home.
"[He said] his parents told him he must give them his firearms if he wants to keep living in the home. And that he could have them back when he needed them." The report also said the man claimed that his parents: "refuse to give (him) his firearms back when he tries to go to the range to use them."
Mia was transported to a hospital with "serious injuries" but appears to be on the road to recovery.
Andy Reid Speaks to Reporters Following Shooting
Following the incident, Chiefs Head Coach Andy Reid said that even amid the tragedy, he is trying to find the "blessing" in the situation involving Bienemy.
"These kinds of things happen, but there's always a blessing in there somewhere," Reid said (via ESPN). "I know things will work out. The most important thing is that EB has an opportunity to spend some time [with his family]. And take care of that business. Everybody loves EB. He's a great person."
He also added:
"Things happen. You have to work through it, and time will have to be involved in this to help heal a little bit. It'll all work out in the long run."
