The audience was impressed with Tyvion Campbell's dance move at her graduation ceremony. However, the faculty at Chicago Tech Academy, where the 18-year-old attended, was not.

As reported by the New York Post, Campbell was removed from the ceremony after she dropped a split as she crossed the stage.
Campbell Wasn't Handed Her Diploma
Graduating from high school is exciting for any young adult. Not only does it mark an 18-year accomplishment, but it also signifies one's move into adulthood. What student wouldn't want to express their excitement about this moment with a split?
And Campbell has a lot to celebrate. She graduated with a 3.5 GPA. She is also heading to Georgia State University in the fall to study business administration.
However, this moment led school officials to decide not to award Campbell the diploma she had worked so hard for. She was even chastised for her actions.
Campbell explained, "I tried to reach for my diploma, and I didn't get it. I was confused at first. I thought they mixed up my name."
She added, "The principal, Miss [Zataya] Shackelford, told me that I need to think of a way to make up for what I've done. This was supposed to be a celebratory moment, and I made it about myself."
There Was No Policy Against Campbell's Actions
Campbell claims she was being reprimanded for her move. However, Chicago Tech Academy, which did not comment on the report, does not have a specific policy that bans splits on stage.
The student was not only escorted out of the ceremony in tears, but she says she still has not received her diploma.
"It was disappointing," she said. "It really hurt my feelings. I cried, and I couldn't even continue the graduation."
Given that a graduation ceremony in Virginia recently erupted in violence after a spectator attacked a student walking up to receive his diploma, doing a split on one of the happiest days of a person's life should be among the least of the school's concerns.
