Charlie Worsham and His Wife Kristen Welcome Their First Child, Gabriel Thomas

Country singer Charlie Worsham and his wife Kristen welcomed their first child, son Gabriel Thomas Worsham, on April 1.

"Easter arrived early for our family this year," Charlie wrote on social media. "Welcome young Gabriel Thomas Worsham, 6 pounds & 11 ounces of pure, miraculous love, born Thursday, April 1, at 3:38pm, to the soundtrack of Sinners Like Me. Gabe is sweet, peaceful and strong, like his mama. they're both doing great, and I'm just a mess of overwhelming love and joy and pride."

Kristen shared the same photo in an Instagram post, adding her own caption about her baby boy having a "head full of hair, squishy cheeks and the sweetest soul...he's Heaven on Earth!"

Little Gabe's dad is an Old Crow Medicine Show alum. The singer-songwriter found solo success with the 2013 album Rubberband and its singles "Could It Be" and "Want Me Too."

Charlie needed help setting up his Follow Your Heart Scholarship, part of his Follow Your Heart Arts Program which gives instruments to kids who wouldn't otherwise be able to afford one. While getting the scholarship in place, he met the future Kristen Worsham and connected with her beyond the paperwork. The couple became engaged on March 11, 2018 and wed that same year on Sept. 22.

"History books may define 2020 by division and struggle, but for us it has been a year that gave me and Kristen the gift of more time spent together than ever before," Charlie told People about the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic. "And by far the greatest gift of our 2020 has been the news of our new arrival in the spring of 2021."

Charlie shared the pregnancy announcement through a video of himself covering Keith Urban's "Wasted Time."
