"Charges were dropped after Bailey took immediate responsibility for his mistake," Zimmerman's lawyer has said. "We are grateful to the Pueblo of Sandia and the District Attorney's Office for this just and swift resolution."

Zimmerman was charged on June 18, having caused over $16,000 in damage to his hotel room. The incident occurred shortly after his concert in Sandia Resort and Casino in Albuquerque was canceled. He was reportedly intoxicated during soundcheck.

TMZ has reported that he also left a $400 bar tab unpaid.

Now that the charges against Zimmerman have been dropped, he will be free to focus on rebuilding his reputation with his fanbase. Canceling a show just hours before you're due to take the stage, simply because you're too intoxicated, is a surefire way to lose fans in a hurry.

Hopefully, Zimmerman has learned from the experience and won't make the same mistake a second time.

Bailey Zimmerman Has Since Spoken About the Incident

On Tuesday, June 22, Zimmerman broke his silence over the incident in New Mexico. He did so by posting a statement to his Instagram story.

"First things first, I want to apologize to the Pueblo of Sandia and to everyone at Sandia Resort & Casino. I never meant for any of this to come across as disrespectful," Bailey said, via TMZ. "I am deeply sorry for my actions that transpired. And, I respect your community and the hospitality and appreciate the opportunity that was given to me to perform on Native Land; I take full accountability for everything that happened and I am sorry to anyone who feels hurt or disrespected."

Zimmerman then turned his attention to the fans he'd let down.

"To my fans who bought tickets and showed up expecting a performance, I am so sorry, you deserved better from me. I understand that being a musician comes with big responsibilities, both on and off stage, and I know that I fell short that day. I am reflecting on the disappointment and concern that I caused."

Zimmerman's quick actions and willingness to pay for the damages he caused were key to his avoiding criminal charges. He's taken full accountability, and in truth, that's all you can ask at this point.
