Chapel Hart Returns to 'AGT' Stage With Fiery 'Fam Damily' Performance

Chapel Hart reminded viewers why the trio reached last season's Top 10.

While America's Got Talent (AGT) viewers decided two more entries in this year's Top 10, a fan favorite from last season returned to the show's stage. Chapel Hart appeared on Wednesday night's (Sept. 6) live show to perform original song "Fam Damily."

Sisters Danica and Devynn Hart and their cousin Trea Swindle reminded America —as if we could forget— of the elements that made them an act to watch long before their brush with AGT fame. The trio's tight blood harmonies, homespun humor, choreographed stage moves, impeccable fashion senses and lived-in country lyricism were on full display, to the delight of the judges and live audience.

The group wrote "Fam Damily" with Billy Dawson and country upstart Erin Kinsey. It's off Chapel Hart's 2023 album Glory Days.

Many followers of country music likely recognized Chapel Hart upon its Aug. 2022 breakout moment on AGT: between their CMT Next Women of Country laurels, music video collaboration with Billy Gibbons and positive press for their Dolly Parton answer song, "You Can Have Him Jolene."

Last year on AGT, the family singing group's audition left a huge impression on judges via "The Girls are Back in Town," the feisty title track from their 2021 album.

After years of paying dues on the road and in the studio, the trio saw AGT as an opportunity to gain invaluable exposure. A Grand Ole Opry debut and a collaboration with Darius Rucker followed their AGT appearance.

"Sounds like an overstatement, but [AGT] literally changed our lives," Swindle told Terry Crews after the band's "Fam Damily" performance.

As for this year's contestants, Mzansi Youth Choir and Putri Arianai moved on this week to the Top 10, joining Lavender Darcangelo, Adrian Stoica and Hurricane, Ahren Besile and Murmuration.
