Born and raised on the border of Texas and Louisiana, singer-songwriter Chad Richard draws from both states' rich musical heritage on his sophomore album Worthy Cause.
The album's title track, which Wide Open Country is premiering today, is a soulful love song about a relationship built on honesty and acceptance.
"The idea came from stumbling and almost falling with my guitar while walking around in my barn, trying to think of something to write about," Richard tells Wide Open Country. "I whittled it into a song about a guy who's grateful for a woman that allows him to be his less than perfect self."

Worthy Cause was produced by Walt Wilkins and engineered by Ron Flynt at Jumping Dog Studio in Austin, Texas. Richard released his debut album Veteran's Grocery in 2015.
