Chad Lowe's Family Speaks Out After Daughter's Death
The Lowe-Painter family asked for "prayers and privacy at this time" as they mourn Fiona's death.
"We are deeply heartbroken by the loss of our beloved Fiona. She was a loving young girl who was smart, creative and loved to dance," the statement read.
"She was adored by her sisters, and she was deeply loved by her parents. In fact, she was the light of our lives."
The family concluded the statement by sharing details of the 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline.
"If you or someone you know is struggling with mental health, please reach out to the 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline by calling or texting 988," the statement added.
Chad is the younger brother of fellow actor Rob Lowe. He has been married to producer Kim Painter for 16 years.
The couple shared Fiona and are also parents to daughters Mabel Lowe, 17, and Nixie Lowe, 10.
School Community Mourns Tragic Loss
Following Fiona's death, the middle school she attended reportedly sent an email to families on Tuesday morning informing them that a student had died.
"It is with deep sadness that I am calling you to advise you of the death of one of our students," the email reportedly read.
"Our sincere condolences go out to the student's family, friends and teachers."
The communication did not identify the student, while the school made counselors available to students and staff "who may need emotional support during this difficult time".
Chad's father, Charles "Chuck" Lowe, has also honored his late granddaughter on social media.
He took to Instagram on Wednesday to share a photo of Fiona smiling at the camera while swimming in a pool.
The post was accompanied by the caption, "Rest in peace sweet Fiona".
