Celine Dion is not only a legendary singer, she is a determined, gritty survivor as well. However, during a concert at France's Plenitude Arena on Wednesday, October 7, Dion tripped and fell on the stage. Per People, "In video footage from the concert, Dion's pants can be seen getting caught on one of her heels, causing her to collapse on the stage." Fortunately, the star scrambled back up on her feet quickly and resumed her performance.

There was another small glitch later, per the outlet. After slipping into a black dress, Dion said in a hushed tone to the enthusiastic crowd that she could not recall the words to the song, "Pour que tu m'aimes encore." She then motivated them to sing it with her. She appreciated their understanding. Dion said in French, "Thank goodness you're here. It made my heart swell. It touched me so deeply."
Dion Was Found To Have Stiff Person Syndrome Almost Four Years Ago
Celine Dion got some alarming medical news nearly four years ago. She learned that she has stiff person syndrome. According to the Cleveland Clinic, the serious, rare condition is marked by "muscle stiffness and painful muscle spasms." Although there is no cure for it, symptoms can often be mitigated.
Two years later, in 2024, Dion told the outlet that she was flailing against the relentless onslaught of the condition. She hated to give in to it. "I was going down, down, down. It took my whole life...I didn't want to stop. I wanted to stay onstage. I wanted to be brave instead of smart. That was wrong."
She Needed To Temporarily Take a Step Back From Her Career
While Celine Dion tended to her health, she rarely performed. But she made a triumphant return to singing when she launched her Paris residency on Saturday, September 12. The "My Heart Will Go On" artist emotionally said to the throng per the outlet, "There are many of you here tonight from all over the world. Thank you so very much for coming. If it's your first time in Paris, I hope you fall in love with it, just like I did. Finally, it's amazing we are all together."
