Valerie Perrine passed away on March 23 at the age of 82. At the time, her cause of death wasn't released. However, according to her death certificate, which was obtained by PEOPLE, it has now been confirmed that she passed away due to a sudden cardiac arrest. Valerie had also suffered from Parkinson's disease since 2015, which was noted to have been the underlying cause of her passing.

"The Los Angeles Department of Health also determined that dementia was a contributing factor to her death," PEOPLE added.
At the time of Valerie's death, Stacey Souther, who was a close friend, released a statement on Facebook.
"It is with deep sadness that I share the heartbreaking news that Valerie has passed away," the statement began. "Perrine was 82. She faced Parkinson's disease with incredible courage and compassion, never once complaining. She was a true inspiration who lived life to the fullest — and what a magnificent life it was. The world feels less beautiful without her in it. I love you, Valerie. I'll see you on the other side."
Souther also set up a GoFundMe for Valerie's family following the announcement. The goal was set at $50,000, which it recently surpassed.
Valerie Perrine Had 67 Acting Credits to Her Name
Valerie was best known for her role as Eve Teschmacher in the 1978 and 1980 Superman movies, where she played the girlfriend of Lex Luthor. However, her catalog of work spanned multiple decades, totaling 67 credits. Her first credit came on Slaughterhouse-Five in 1972, where she played Montana Wildhack.
She then stacked multiple credits throughout the 70s, sometimes showing up in multiple movies each year. Take 1973, for example, Valerie held roles in Lady Luck, The Last American Hero and an episode of Love Story.
Outside of Superman, Valerie also appeared in the hit movie What Women Want in 2000. Her last role came in 2016, when she appeared on Silver Skies as Ethel.
Valerie's career saw her dabble in TV movies, TV shows and big-screen productions. She was incredibly talented, which is why her career lasted over 40 years. Her loss will undoubtedly be felt by her loved ones and those in the acting business. RIP.
