The Pulp Fiction star suffered a 'gunshot wound to the left axilla with injury of the brachial artery,' therefore, his death has been deemed an accident.

Throughout his life, Greene struggled with his mental health. He also dealt with substance addiction and was known to have made an attempt on his own life in 1996. However, as per the latest findings, his passing was not the result of another one of those attempts. Greene had been scheduled to have a benign tumor removed from near his lung the day his body was discovered.

"He sounded okay ... It was just a totally normal conversation. He was a little nervous about the operation going in, but he said it wasn't super serious," Gregg Edwards, Greene's long-time manager, told the New York Post in December. "He was talking about that and hoping that I was going to be okay and wishing me well as I was wishing him well. We're good friends. I love the guy ... We were friends for over a decade."

Greene was 60 years old at the time of his unfortunate passing.
