Cash-Strapped Brides Are Embracing Witchcraft For Perfect Budget Weddings

Brides-to-be are increasingly turning to witchcraft, shockingly via Etsy witches, to control the weather for their big day.

These days, everything is expensive. Food, cars, gas- you name it; it will likely run you hundreds, if not thousands, of dollars. So, imagine how expensive it is for people trying to get married in this economy. Then imagine spending all that cash only for your special day to be rained out. Well, it would appear that some brides have begun exploring creative ways to get their dream weddings.

According to The New York Post, brides-to-be are increasingly turning to witchcraft, shockingly via Etsy witches, to control the weather for their big day.

"Newlyweds and wedding vendors alike are crediting mystical spellcasters with delivering blue skies and sunshine — or at least conveniently timed rainstorms — in a viral trend that has exploded across TikTok," The New York Post reported.

Posts about these Etsy witches are traveling far and wide. A more recent one, posted by TikTok user "Emlay.rose," noted that she paid an Etsy witch to ensure there was no rainfall on her wedding day. Turns out, it did rain, but at the most convenient time: when everyone went inside for dinner. Then, everything miraculously dried up before the wedding party went back outside.

"We paid an Etsy witch to keep the rain away on our wedding day, but the weather had its own sense of timing," the caption to the video said. "All the rain that seemed scheduled for the whole day arrived at once—right when we went in for dinner. It poured while guests were inside, then stopped again just in time for us to go back outside and dance."

Other Users Commented With Their Own Experience of Etsy Witches

Of course, when a weird and wonderful trend starts to go viral, the best thing to do is visit the comments section of some of the posts. As you would expect, success with these Etsy witches appears to vary.

"I paid an Etsy witch for good luck and a glow-up. Literally as soon as she sent pics, I've had nothing but horrible luck <3." One user commented.

Another user explained that rather than using an Etsy witch, they made an offering to Mother Nature directly, with stunning results.

"My hubby and I went and buried a bottle of bourbon upside down where we were getting married a month in advance!" the user wrote. "So we could give Mother Nature a drink in exchange for good weather! She was so pleased. It rained 3 days before and made all the flowers bloom and it was PERFECT weather the day of!"

Are Etsy witches really coming through for their new wave of paying customers, or are some simply getting lucky with timing and weather patterns? It's hard to say. Still, if users keep posting their successes, being a witch on Etsy might emerge as a viable side hustle.
