Iconic comedian Carrot Top has been rushed to hospital. As reported by TMZ, sources close to the situation reported to the outlet that the comedian attempted suicide on Friday.
The comedian, whose real name is Scott Thompson, was scheduled to perform at the Luxor in Las Vegas that night - however, the show was cancelled as a result of what happened.
Jami Schlicher, the representative for Carrot Top, did not mention suicide in her statement to the outlet. She wrote, "Mr. Thompson is recovering in the hospital and is receiving the care and support he needs. His family and those closest to him are deeply grateful for the concern, prayers and respectfully ask for privacy."
Carrot Top has been a longtime performer at the Luxor for years, holding many residencies. There has been no official word from the venue as of yet. However, their website has removed the September 18 performance date from the list of dates.
Their website describes the comedian and his performance as follows:
"Indulge in the comedic brilliance of Scott "Carrot Top" Thompson at Luxor Las Vegas Hotel and Casino - the home of one of Vegas' best comedy residencies!"
"With an ever-evolving take on pop culture, music, and current events, Carrot Top's award-winning comedy is a rollercoaster of laughter, complete with trunk loads of crazy props and wacky inventions."
