Carrie Underwood Talks Getting Her Hands Dirty on Farm

Carrie Underwood always looks stunning. Whether she is at the judges' table on American Idol or in concert, she has perfect grooming, impeccable style, and wonderful outfits. Except, however, when she is at home on her farm, that is. Then the "Before He Cheats" singer, 43, gets happily down and dirty. Whatever Underwood does, she keeps it real. At home, despite her international celeb status, she is a wife and mom first. Underwood is married to Mike Fisher. They tied the knot in 2010. The couple has two sons.

Farm Life Agrees With Underwood, Even Getting Her Hands Grubby

Her farm in Tennessee is far from the glitz and glam of Hollywood. The lifestyle is so wildly different. Carrie Underwood seems to find it restorative, almost like a getaway. According to People, she observed, "I grew up in a small town on a farm to leave the farm, go and do all this other stuff, only to end back up on a farm. I love getting my hands in the dirt...I love it when I make dinner and my husband's a big hunter, my boys are hunters, so we get the cleanest meat anywhere,"

Underwood Prioritizes Wellness for Herself and Others

She values her health and fitness. And Underwood wants to help others achieve their own optimum state of wellness. So she created a wellness brand called HiNote, per People. She shared with the outlet, "Over the past couple of decades, I really have been trying my best to take care of myself. I know better than anyone. I'm in gyms all over the world, it's confusing and there's so much information out there and we really wanted to simplify."

Furthermore, the star added, "I have to take care of myself because if I get sick, if I get down, if I get unhealthy, everything suffers. I can't do my job the way I want to, I can't be a mom the way I want to, I can't be a wife the way I want to or a friend."

Underwood tries to eke out time whenever she can to unwind and refresh. That might mean taking a stroll, working out, or avoiding overexposure to social media. "If I do have time to work out, I'm going to work out. If I don't, I might go for a walk. I try to look for those windows in my day that it's like, 'What can I do right now instead of sitting on your phone scrolling?' Which is everybody's favorite pastime these days."
