Carrie Underwood's All-Sequin Look at the CMT Awards Red Carpet Could Carry Hidden Meaning

Carrie Underwood is dripping diamonds at the 2023 CMT Music Awards red carpet. The country star, who holds the record for being the most awarded artist in CMT history, walked the red carpet in a show-stopping bejeweled two-piece that could carry an extra-special hidden meaning.

Underwood donned head-to-toe sequins in a sparkly box-cut coat complete with cropped coattails (leave it to Carrie to bring back coattails), along with matching high-waist shorts that flaunted the star's toned legs. Pairing the look with a small diamond-encrusted clutch and liquid silver pumps, Underwood made clear that this year is all about the bling.

The "Hate My Heart" singer finished off the maximalist look with an oversized pair of diamond drop earrings and an assortment of chunky silver rings. As for glam, the country star kept it simple on top, pulling her long blonde locks back into a sleek, albeit disco-ready ponytail.

Underwood is nominated for the Video of the Year award for her single "Hate My Heart," as well as Female Video of the Year for "Ghost Story." The singer has won the coveted Video of the Year trophy for the past four years in a row, with 10 wins in that category altogether. Underwood's all-silver getup at tonight's CMT Awards could carry extra-special meaning: The country star has won a total of 25 CMT Music Awards, and in anniversary parlance, 25 is the year of silver. (And when Carrie has 50 wins under her belt, expect an all-gold getup from the country icon.)

"I left the denim at home," the singer told CMT on the red carpet, referring to her Denim & Rhinestones album and arena tour.

Underwood is also set to take the stage during the ceremony for what will certainly be a powerhouse performance.

"It's a party here, right?" Underwood said of the celebratory feeling at the fan-voted awards show. "I feel like that's what people focus on. They want to have a good time. Just big, fun performances. And that's what I hope we accomplish."
