Carrie Underwood to Receive a Star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame

After 13 years of dazzling audiences with her powerful voice and genuinely kind personality, country superstar Carrie Underwood has earned herself a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. The 35-year-old country singer will receive the 2,646th star on the Walk of Fame in a ceremony taking place on Sept. 20.

"Fans of Carrie Underwood will be thrilled when they see their favorite performer accept her star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame," Ana Martinez, producer of the Walk of Fame ceremonies, stated. "People from all over the world have been asking when she will be honored, and we are proud to say, the time is now. We welcome everyone to Hollywood to cheer her on!"

Los Angeles based Underwood fans can head out to catch the ceremony at 11:30 a.m. in front of the historic Capitol Records building at 1750 North Vine Street, while others can click on WalkofFame.com to watch the livestream. At the ceremony, former American Idol judge Simon Cowell will speak to Underwood's talent as someone who discovered her on the fourth season of the megahit TV show in 2005. After winning American Idol, Underwood released her first album, Some Hearts, which became the best selling female artist debut in country music.

Underwood's longtime pal and CMA Awards co-host, Brad Paisley will also honor her. In addition to co-hosting award shows, Underwood has also won quite a few trophies. She's taken home 14 ACMs, 6 CMAs, and 7 Grammys throughout her career.

Leron Gubler, President and CEO of the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce, will round out the list of guest speakers at Underwood's star ceremony as part of the program's legacy. In 1953, the idea for the Hollywood Walk of Fame was introduced by the volunteer President of the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce, though it wasn't until 1958 that the first eight stars were laid out.

In addition to joining the decades of history on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, country star Underwood has plenty of excitement brewing back home in Nashville. She has a baby on the way with husband Mike Fisher and her new highly anticipated album, Cry Pretty, coming out on Sept. 14.
