The PS22 Chorus pops up briefly in the official video Carrie Underwood and Ludacris recorded for their hit track "The Champion," but now the talented group of kids are specifically getting their due thanks to a tweet from Underwood herself.
After seeing the 5th graders from Public School 22 in Staten Island, N.Y. take on her powerful song, Carrie Underwood tweeted, "Each and every one of you is most definitely a champion! So much love for the @PS22Chorus ❤ This made my day!!!" She also included a link to the video so her 8.4 million followers could see the choir, as well.

The PS22 Chorus has received praise from mega-popular singers before, like Garth Brooks, Taylor Swift and Elle King, but every mention clearly means a lot to the group. And it's easy to see why they gain attention from the public and famous musicians, each and every kid seems to have a special connection to the music. Watching them is inspiring - we should all allow ourselves to sing as freely and with such passion as these kids.
Chorus director Gregg Breinberg proudly posted the video to Facebook of the students singing their hearts out along with the caption, "Massive props to the chorus on this one for bringing some atomic energy and killer harmony, our wicked cool rappers Joshua & Madison, drummer extraordinaire Quentin, and lil' powerhouse Leiara who blew us away with that KO solo!! Champions indeed!!"
