Caroline Jones Teams Up With Jimmy Buffett, Kenny Chesney and More for 'Gulf Coast Girl'

Caroline Jones confesses she's got a little mermaid in her with the song "Gulf Coast Girl," featuring Jimmy Buffett, Kenny Chesney, Lukas Nelson and Mac McAnally as her backing band, The Pelicanaires. Now the single has its own music video showing Jones living the salt life at coastal getaways in Alabama, Florida, Mississippi and Texas.

Buffett co-wrote the song for her with McAnally to reflect Jones' experiences living in West Palm Beach, Fla.

"It was an honor to have such iconic and respected friends write this song for me, and have the opportunity to collaborate with them on it," Jones says in a press release. "I have known Mac for almost ten years now, and have had the privilege of going out on tour with both Jimmy and Kenny. They have all become friends and mentors, which I am grateful for."

Per Jones' bio, she supported The Zac Brown Band and shared the stage with Buffett, Chesney and Toby Keith at 2017's Trying to Reason hurricane relief benefit concert. A live duet with Buffett led to a charity single release and, ultimately, a partnership with his Mailboat Records.

"I had heard really good things about her, from friends, but was taken aback when I watched her open the show," Buffett says in a press release. "Mac and I were interested in working with her and wanted to come up with a 'feel good' song that would do the same on beaches and lakes thousands of miles away from the beach I grew up on."
