Carly Pearce Shares Emotional Moment With Fan Who Lost Their Father

"I’m thankful so many of you have found comfort in this song," Pearce shared.

Carly Pearce's song "Show Me Around" undoubtedly pulls at the heartstrings, and at a recent show in Oklahoma, the song made possible a sweet and vulnerable moment between Pearce and a fan. Pearce wrote "Show Me Around" about her late producer and friend Busbee, and in the song, she imagines meeting back up with her friend in Heaven. In a video Pearce shared to social media, the singer walks around the stage singing the song when she hears a fan mention that her father passed away. She immediately makes her way to the fan and crouches down.

"Did you say that you lost your daddy?" she asks the fan.

She then launches into the chorus of the song, staying on the fan's level for the entire refrain and even holding her hand. Although the video is filmed from further back in the crowd, the fan is undoubtedly emotional, looking at Pearce while she sings. The emotions got to Pearce, as well, and she teared up while singing.

In the chorus Pearce sings, "When I get there promise you'll track me down." The singer appeared to tell the fan, "He will," after singing the line. Pearce continued holding the fan's hand as she sang the song's hook a few more times, and she leaned closer as she sang the first line of the song once last time: "I heard you got a brand new place."

Pearce shared the video alongside a caption that reads, "This moment in Oklahoma last weekend really got me. I'm thankful so many of you have found comfort in this song."

Pearce co-wrote "Show Me Around" with Emily Shackleton and Ben West for Busbee, who passed away on Sept. 29, 2019 from a form of brain cancer called glioblastoma. Pearce released the song in December 2020, and it is featured on her 2021 album, 29: Written in Stone.
