Rising artist Carly Pearce put her own spin on Dolly Parton's trademark tune "9 to 5" during a recent visit to The Bobby Bones Show.
Covering the country queen was a natural choice for Pearce, who started off her career as a performer at Parton's Tennessee theme park, Dollywood. But it takes talent to be able to transform the boisterous 1980 track into something a little more laid back and soulful.

It's been a busy year for the 27-year-old Kentucky native. Pearce is still making waves on the charts with her heartbreaking debut single "Every Little Thing." Last year, she got her first taste of success when "Wasn't That Drunk," her recording with Josh Abbott Band, made it to the Top 40 of Billboard's Country Airplay charts.
Although details haven't been announced yet, it's expected that Pearce will soon release her debut LP on Big Machine Records. Until then, she has a packed touring schedule that runs across the country through the end of Sept. You can find a full list of her upcoming concert dates here.
